DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIA
The department of Anesthesia Wah Medical College was established with the emergence of Wah Medical College and got affiliated with Department of Anesthesia, Intensive care and pain management POF Hospital Wah. First Professor of Anesthesia was Brig. Tariq Mufti.
Facilities provided by Department
Department is located in the Main operation theatre of the POF Hospital Wah Cantt. It has got four different services.
- Anesthesia
- Pain Management
- Intensive care
- Support to all other departments
First two services are provided in the main operation theatre. Intensive care unit (ITC) is attached with the Main operation theatre for the post operative care and surgical critically ill patients and the last service is provided in all the departments as for endoscopic procedures of Department of Medicines and MRI/CT scan/Ultrasound under anesthesia for the Ophthalmologic surgery in Eye Department and in Department of ENT. Further Burn Centre operating room is also equipped with Anesthesia care.
In operation theatre, there are 8 operating Rooms for different types of surgeries including General surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynae /Obstetrics, ENT, Traumatology and paediatric surgery. All operation theatre are well equipped with latest Multi-para monitors (pluse Oximetery, NIBP, IB, P ECG, Capnography and temperature), OT lights with two arms, Latest Anaesthesia Machine, OT tables with remote controls. Two operation theatres provide the facility of Audio Vedio conferenrence. Two into C arms and OrthoscopeTs are provided in Orthopeadic Operating Rooms. Urethroscope, ENT Microscope are also provided in respective operating rooms.
