DERMATOLOGY

The dermatology department of the POFs Hospital was established in 1983. Before that the hospital didnt have a full time dermatologist and the patients of skin diseases were seen by visiting dermatologists from MH Rawalpindi once monthly. Dr. Salah ud din Mehmood was the first skin specialist who having received his training first from MH Rawalpindi and then a diploma from UK established the dermatology department.

Full-fledged dermatology department is well equipped and has facilities like electro cautery, cryotherapy, skin biopsy sets and a state of the art full body phototherapy chamber. Specialist offices have been provided with magnifying lamps for examination. Indoor facility includes a total of 10 beds for admitted cases.

Being the affiliated hospital of Wah Medical College, the faculty is fully involved in teaching dermatology to undergraduates and house physicians.
